Gareth Presch 2020
On Sunday, October 25th, Cumbria Social Entrepreneur and World Health Innovation Summit Founder, Gareth Presch, was honored for his pioneering contributions in the arena of worldwide health and well being with the 2020 Global Presence Humanitarian Award.
The Global Presence Humanitarian Award recognises an individual and/or organisation that has nurtured Life Skills development in a magnanimous manner.
Mr. Presch founded the World Health Innovation Summit in 2015 as a community interest company (social enterprise). The initial aim was to help local health services recruit and retain staff. Soon after their first event, Mr. Presch realised that the WHIS platform could actually do more to help and support communities improve their health and wellbeing. WHIS enhances collaboration between existing entities – it has multiple programmes such as WHISKids (Children’s emotional and physical wellbeing), WHISAtwork (Supporting people’s health in the workplace), WHISSeniors (Falls prevention, quality of life, loneliness, wisdom exchange), WHISGreen (Energy, Waste and Water – regenerating the environment), and WHISTech (Media, Digital Health, Talks) with the goal to improve people’s health and wellbeing throughout their life.
He is also the Expert Lead on SDG3 for the UNGSII Foundation, Co-President, One Health Romania, Vice Chair GWI SDG Initiative, Strategic Partnerships SolaVieve and a Member of the Vatican COVID19 Commission.
